BMW has finalized the M4 GTS to do the job of a safety car in upcoming DTM season.
The car is based on the regular M4 GTS, but features sutble changes such as an LED light bar, a complete sticker job and prominent highlights.
The car gets optional accessories such a rear wing, a front splitter, 19 inch front alloy wheels, 20 inch rear rims with an orange hue.
It was quite an easy task for BMW to modify the stock M4 to the the safety version since a roll bar and fire extinguisher are already available in the basic variant. All they needed to do was install a radio.
In a press release, BMW said:
The DTM safety car is designed and adapted for high-performance driving on race circuits and is powerful enough to maintain the speeds at which other vehicles also participating in the event can be driven without an adverse effect on their racing capabilities
