A list of top 10 exported cars from India in FY 2016 was recently released by SAIM.
According to the list Ford Ecosport was the most exported car from India last fiscal, closely followed by Nissan Micra. It seems as if cars which arn't doing very well in India, have a huge demand abroad. The Ford Ecosport which exported over 83,325 units last fiscal year, has been facing quite a stiff competition from the likes of Vitara Brezza and TUV300 in the local market.
The Ford Ecosport compact SUV is available three engine vairants: 2 petrol and 1 diesel. The first petrol motor is specially designed for EcoSport. It's a 999cc motor which produces a power of 123 bhp and a torque of 170 Nm. The second petrol engine generates a maximum power of 108 Bhp and a peak torque of 140 Nm. The diesel rig is a 4 cylinder 1.5L, 8V SOHC which churns out 98 bhp and 205 Nm. The car is offered in both manual and automatic variants.
The Ecosport is exported to various markets including Europe.
