A 23 year old woman was driven right into a lake in Ontario, Canada by her malfunctioning GPS system. The poor lady was driving on an unfamiliar road on a foggy night.
The weather was pretty bad, and the dense fog had reduced visibility to zero. The woman blindly followed her navigation system instructions, when she realized that she had plunged her car into a deep lake. Acting reflexively, she saved her life as she rolled down her windows and swam across to safety.
The lesson we should take home from this is; avoid driving during harsh weather conditions, and don't follow the GPS unthinkingly.
The Toyota Yaris was pulled out of the lake the next day.
