It has been reported that Tata Motors is working on an entry-level hatch, which will be positioned somewhere between the Nano and the Tiago.
Tata says it is too early to reveal any details but the company has kept in touch with Nano customers and is planning a new car. The Tata Nano which was launched as the cheapest car in the world, expected to sell like hot cakes, failed miserably in the market. The Tata Bolt and Zest have met a similar fate, and other TATA car's aren't doing wonders either.
But unfazed by this, Tata has already started working on their new product. It also plans to launch the Kite, Hexa and Nexon soon. Can the new cars reverse Tata's failing fortunes? Let's see.
Commenting on Tata's plans, an automobile guru says "The small car market has suffered as demand in the rural markets slowed due to two consecutive weak monsoons. As and when the rural economy recovers, the small car market will get a push in terms of volumes. So, it is a good decision by the Tata Motors."
