The new Chevrolet Beat hatch is likely to enter markets by the end of this year. Chevrolet has released the first images of its new-gen Beat which seems to be an evolution of the previous Beat. This time car features a muscular look with flared wheel arches and creases on bonnet which make it look grown up and less edgy.
The new look is centered around the new Chevy’s signature two-part grill. To add to its appeal, the narrow upper grille and lower/larger ‘shield shaped’ opening have now been highlighted with chrome. The flanks have a smooth look and there are no more sharp character lines on the pre-facelifted car. This time the car has large and wide headlamps that makes the bottom look more rounded.
The passenger-door handle on the pillar is the same as the first-gen Beat. This time the tail-lamps are also expected to be larger and feature LED inserts. It is also expected that the second-gen Beat will feature a dual-tone interior and a 7-inch infotainment display. Unlike the previous-generation Beat, this time Beat will be available in two variants- Beat Essentia compact sedan and the Beat Activ cross-hatch.
The Beat Activ concept was earlier Auto Expo 2016 and will now enter into production. Beat Essentia compact sedan is expected to give a tough competition to Tata's upcoming Kite 5.
The new-gen cars would be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder diesel and petrol engines. As per announcement by Chevrolet, five new models will be launched within next two years. Three of them would be based on the new Beat hatchback and the rest on the all-new Cruze sedan and the facelifted Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV. Chevrolet Spin MPV in is also expected to be launched in India soon.
