Tata's Sanand facility, responsible for the manufacturing of Nano and Tiago, recently caught fire after some fault in the manufacturing facility of M/s Supreme Treves, the vendor responsible for the supply of trim parts for Nano. Everyone escaped unharmed while 12 fire tenders were called for bringing down the fire.
Sanand facility in Gujarat started work in 2010 and spreads over 725 acres, accompanying a 375 acre vendor park on its one side. All major components for Nano and Tiago are sourced from the site. Tata may build more cars at Sanand by the end of this year.
