Renault is out with the first teasor of its upcoming crossover in India – The Renault Kaptur. The cross bears quite a resemblance to its sibling, Captur, available in Europe. The model which will premier in India will have a longer wheelbase.
Codenamed HHA, the Indian version of the Captur has begun its testing phase. The car is .1 meter longer than Duster in length, and measures a total of 4.4 meters. The Kaptur will be very spacious, and will be available in five seater and seven seater options.
The car will be based on the same platform as Duster, but will resemble the European-spec Captur in design. Not much is known about this cross yet, but it will most likely derive power from a 1.5 liter diesel engine, mated to a five-speed/six-speed gearbox. The entie setup will be slightly more powerful than the duster. An AWD version might also be launched.
Not much is known about the pricing of this car, but it can expected to be priced slightly higher than the Duster. The car will first launch in Brazil before making its way to India.
