So, Renault has come up with a bigger and better Kwid 1.0-litre in India. The new Kwid has been launched with a manual gearbox and will be available in two variants.
The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre has been priced at an introductory Rs. 3.83 lakhs for the RxT variant and Rs. 3.96 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the RxT (O) variant. So, the new Kwid has been priced Rs. 22,000 more than the Kwid 800cc. The new and powerful Kwid will get its power from the all new 999 cc, 3-cylinder engine which can generate 68 PS at 5500 RPM and 91 NM at 4250 RPM. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The AMT will be launched in the next few months.
The automaker claims that the micro SUV- Kwid 1.0-litre has got the best in class power to weight ratio of 97 PS per tonne along with a ARAI certified mileage of 23.01 kmpl. The major differences between the 0.8-litre Kwid and 1.0-litre model are white chequered decals with 1.0-litre on the lower half of the doors along with gloss grey covering on the outside rearview mirrors. For now, the vehicle is still missing out the internally adjustable rearview mirrors along with ABS.
The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre has been equipped with features like Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, remote central locking, front power windows and an optional driver side airbag.
Renault is expected to have 270 outlets in the sub-continent by December 2016. Till date, the Renault Kwid has received 1.65 lakh bookings.
