Benelli's overall sales in India has crossed the 3,000 unit milestone. Due to the increasing demand, the Italian premium bike maker has plans to open 15 more showrooms throughout the country by the end of 2016.
Benelli jumped into the Indian market last year in March with a target to sell 3,000 motorcycles in its first year of operation. Although it took some more time to actually get into action but the great part is that the company has finally made it to its target. The Benelli TNT 600i is now one of the fastest selling big bikes in India. In India, Benelli bikes are available from as low as Rs 1.68 lakh for the entry-level TNT 25 and as high as Rs 11.81 lakh for the litre-class TNT R. The company started off with a network of nine showrooms and has now 17 showrooms across the country.
All six models have been imported through the completely knocked down (CKD) route and assembled at DSK Motowheels’ facility in Wai, Maharashtra. Shirish Kulkarni, chairman, DSK Motowheels expressed his delight saying, “DSK Benelli has managed to carve a strong niche for itself in India’s superbike industry thanks to our emphasis on performance coupled with compelling design language. We have established our brand leadership stance on the basis of our diverse portfolio that offers superbikes at various price points. Our overall vision is to create a vibrant superbiking culture in India and help more and more riding aficionados experience the pure pleasure of owning an Italian superbike unlike any other.”
