Today is a big day for all the Elantra lovers as Hyundai Motor India Ltd will roll out the new 2016 Hyundai Elantra today. Also, it is a big day for the Korean automaker as it is going to be their first major product launch of this year.
For now, the Hyundai Elantra will be launched in both petrol and diesel engine options in five grade levels: S, SX, SX AT, SX(O), SX(O) AT. Coming to the dimensions, the new Elantra measures 4,570 mm, 1,800 mm and 1,455 mm in length, width and height respectively. It has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm which makes it 40 mm longer and 25 mm wider than the present model.
The new Elantra petrol will be powered by a 2.0L MPI four cylinder engine which can produce 152 PS and 190 NM. The diesel variant comes with 1.6 CRDi engine which can churn 128 PS and 265 Nm of torque.
The motor will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as a standard in both te variants along with an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox in SX grades.
The Elantra is a premium sedans in its segment with plenty of premium features like ‘boomerang’ LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps, LED tailights, 16-inch alloy rims, shark fin antenna, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay support, parking sensors with reverse camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, satellite navigation, cruise control, anti-pinch sunroof and start/stop button.
