As per latest reports, BMW Motorrad is soon likely to unveil the adventure version of the G 310 R called as BMW G 310 GS which is in the works for now. It is expected that the BMW G 310 GS would be unveiled in 2017 globally. The BMW G 310 R made its debut at the EICMA motorcyle in Italy in July 2015 and is currently the most anticipated new bike launch.
What has made people wait for the launch of G 310 R is whether it would be affordable as per the Indian two-wheeler market. As most of us know by now, the bike has been developed and designed by BMW Motorrad in Germany and manufactured at Hosur plant of TVS Motors. So, this makes it obvious to expect its aggressive pricing between Rs 2.2 and 2.5 lakh. But we will have to wait for its launch in October, 2016 in India.
Reports from Autocar reveal that an adventure version of BMW G310 R is likely to launch in the market. This has really created curiosity and excitement among Indian bike enthusiasts. Also, an adventure bike with long travel suspension would definitely make sense with the road conditions in India.
With the German bikemaker’s years of expertise, we can expect the G 310 GS to be lighter and more refined machine than the RE Himalayan along with a utilitarian design. It would be powered by 313cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor which can produce 35 PS of power and 28 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The BMW G 310 GS is also expected to get unveiled at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle and make its debut in early 2017.
