Suzuki has finally revealed the veil off it's new offering the form of newly styled Swift which will be launched at around mid 2017. The internal code name for this car is YSD and it will come to India as the third generation Swift, India's favourite hatchback.
The new Swift design looks like the company has added a more sporty appeal to the new model. But it can also be seen that the new Swift retains almost all the markings of the old Swift. But this time the designers have achieved to make a distinction compared to the two previous generations. The company had to risk doing something new to get an evolved model but without sacrificing the old charm of previous generation Swift, and they have succeded in it considerably.
A lot of things from the old Swift have been retained such as the shape of the bonut, the headlights along with the inset cabin. The cockpit like glass area also looks distinct from the rest of the body. The new Swift also comes with wrap around wind-screen with blacked out A and B pillars.
The protruding and suspended nose looks is a change and the grille looks like the one found in Audi cars. Also there is the chrome surround that runs across the borders. The blacked out section with C-pillar also gives the hatchback a sporting roof.
The S logo for Suzuki has been moved above the grille for the very first time in this car. The C-shaped recesses below the headlights have also been nicely executed and connect with each other precisely. They also come with fog lights and they also come with inlets which are used to form an aero-dynamic air curtian around front wheels. Large turbine shaped blade alloys are also an add-on. Overall the model scores points on sophistication and innovation.
