Bajaj Auto and Kawasaki India finally ended the 8 year old partnership for sales and service support in the country. The move was initiated when Kawasaki launched its 2017 range of products in India. The reach of Japanese motorcycle manufacturer witnessed a drop from total 330+ dealerships to 12 only.
The move is a bigger hit to CKD motorcycles like Ninja 300, Ninja 650, Versys 650 and Z650 as all of them were sold through Bajaj Pro-biking dealerships. Others like Ninja 1000, H2 or the Ninja ZX-14R would not be that affected as they were already sold through the Kawasaki specific dealerships.
The biggest hit would be for the customers that are living in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. They will have to reach a farther point in order to get their bike serviced or spare parts replaced in any case. The split will even make those customers angry who recently bought a motorcycle from their neighborhood but now has to reach a far point for servicing.
