The Aprillia SR 150, the company's first made-in-India scooter is all set to hit showrooms in the second half of 2016, most likely around the month of September. The SR 150 was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
The scooter has aggressive sporty style and features a black/white and red color scheme. It gets huge 14-inch tubeless tyres and metallic black alloy wheels. From the scooter's sleek and mean styling, Aprillia aims to target youngsters.
At its core lies an air cooled, four stroke 154cc engine which can churn out a power of 12 BHP @ 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 11.5 NM at 5500 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission. The scooter's front suspension is a telescopic unit, while it employs single side coil spring at the rear. Coming to the scooter's braking prowess, the front is equipped with 220mm disc with twin-piston caliper while the rear gets 240mm drum brakes. It has fuel tank capacity of six litres, and is expected to return a mileage of 40-45 km/l.
When launched, the Aprillia SR 150 is expected to cost around INR 90,000.
