Five top Indian cars, the Maruti Eeco, Celerio, Renault Kwid, Hyundai Eon and Mahindra Scorpio, miserably failed in a crash test conducted by Global New Car Assessment Programme. The cars were made to crash at a speed of 64 KMPH and then rated for passenger safety. All of five of them were rated nadir for adults, but managed to score a slightly less embarrassing two star for child safety. But Celerio scored a single star here too.

1) Mahindra Scorpio
The Scorpio scored 0 for adult passenger protection and two stars for child safety. Mahindra claims product meets Indian safety norms.
2) Hyundai Eon
Hyundai Eon scored 0 for adult passenger protection and two stars for child safety. But it should be kept it mind, that the model which was tested came without airbags.
3) Renault Kwid
The Kwid scored 0 for adult passenger protection and two stars for child safety. Renault has already announced plans to build a safer Kwid.
4) Maruti Eeco
The Maruti Eeco scored 0 for adult passenger protection and two stars for child safety.
5) Maruti Celerio
The Celerio was rated zero and 1 star for adult and child protection respectively.
