The Thai-made Suzuki Ertiga and Ciaz sedan have succeeded the Indian made Renault-Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Eon and Mahindra Scorpio in the recent ASEAN NCAP crash test. They have managed to bag 4 stars out of 5 as compared to the Indian cars which scored zero in the test.
The Suzuki Ciaz sedan scored 14.56 points out of 16 in Adult Occupation Protection(AOP) and even outperformed in side impact test due to minimal cabin intrusion. The Ciaz however could get only 2 stars out of 5 in the Child Occupation Protection(COP) test.

On the other hand, Suzuki Ertiga also bagged the same ratings as Ciaz but was declared not as safe as Ciaz. Ertiga scored just 12.30 out of 16 which is less as compared to the 14.56 scored by Suzuki Ciaz. Ertiga even couldn't pass the Child Occupation Protection test scoring just 2 stars out of 5.
During the test both Ertiga and Ciaz was equipped with two airbags at the front along with a seat belt reminder system for the driver. Both cars also lacked features like the Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX and top tether which resulted into loss of one star.
