Spy shots of Benelli Caffenero 150 being tested on Indian roads were leaked on the internet recently. The Caffenero 150 is a touring scooter, a potential threat to the Aprilia SR150 in the premium scooter segment.
The Benelli scooter is powered by a 151cc 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine capable of producing a maximum power of 13 HP at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.3 NM at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to an automatic belt driven gearbox.
Coming to brake setup, the Cafenero 150 gets a single disc 247 mm, 2-piston calipers in the front and the back. The scooter has a 35 mm telescopic fork in the front and Hydraulic shock absorber - 5 positions adjustable at the rear. It also gets 14 inch alloy wheels.
Dimensionally, the scooter is 2217mm in length, 770 mm in width and 1225 mm in height. It stretches across a wheelbase of 1455mm and has a seat height of 860mm. The Benelli weighs 150 kilos (dry).
It is currently being sold in Indonesia and other Asian markets while it is expected to arrive in order to provide a tough competition to the upcoming SR150
The spy shots of the scooter being tested points to its upcoming launch in India. No pricing information is available yet but it is expected to priced close to INR 90,000.
Benelli's international scooter lineup is quite good for the Indian market as the craze for scooter is once again on it's top spot in the recent years
