Hero's first self-developed motorcycle, Splendor iSmart 110 has been finally launched for the Indian market at Rs. 53,300. It will be powered by all-new 110cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which will be able to churn 9.2 Bhp of power against a torque of 9 Nm.

The engine has been seated more upright instead of lying to the ground parallel which will cause better combustion. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox and can stretch to 68 kilometres in one litre of petrol. In terms of design, there is not much difference with the current-gen Splendor but still is quite appealing.

Also, this will be the second Hero bike to be equipped with i3S(ideal start stop system) technology which is the main USP of the motorcycle. This feature will let engine to shut down itself after 10 seconds in neutral and restarting it will only need the pulling of the clutch.

Another interesting thing is that this is the first bike to be BS IV compliant in its segment. There are new colour schemes, AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature, new tail lamp unit along with new alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Another feature that adds sportiness to the bike is the split grab rail and its twin cradle frame.

The Splendor iSmart 110 is going to bring a tough competition for Honda Livo, TVS Victor 110 and Yamaha Saluto RX.
