Rumors suggest that China-based Changan Automobiles is planning to venture into Indian market next year. The fourth-largest carmaker in terms of sales volume in China, Changan will be the first car maker from China to invest in Indian markets.
Currently, the Chinese automotive market is witnessing stagnation in overall sales volume. Although the sales for SUV's are high but sedans and minivans are struggling to retain their place. Changan Automobiles holds specialization in manufacturing of basic cars in the sedan and SUV segments.
The automaker's popular models include Alsvin, Benni, CS35, CX20, and CS75. The company also has joint ventures with Ford, PSA Peugeot Citroen and Suzuki in China.
The Chinese carmaker has got 6,000 sales and service facilities in more than 60 countries. The question that which cars will Changan bring to India remains unanswered.
