Soon you will be able to buy a Mahindra Scorpio in new mild hybrid system. The new tech, dubbed the ‘Intelli-hybrid’ will be able to provide electrical assistance to the engine during driving. Currently, the 'Micro-Hybrid' system features an auto start-stop unit.
The Intelli-hybrid system not only features start-stop option but also have a larger capacity battery, brake energy recuperation, and an integrated starter motor which will have dual-functions of an alternator to charge the battery and of a motor to provide a mild electrical boost to the engine. This new system will only be available for the 2.2-litre diesel engine and not its 1.99-litre. We can expect that Mahindra will further launch models equipped with this system.
