Mahindra TUV 300 was launched in the country last year. TUV300 is a sub-4 offering which fits into the compact SUV segment amongst rivals like Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford Eco Sport. Now the recently spotted test model hints at a long base version of the SUV.
The models was spotted testing with a camouflage. Although it looks like there is no major change in design from the previous TUV model and it will just come with a longer dimension variant. As a result of the long wheelbase a bigger third row glass can be seen.
This can be sen as a strategic move by Mahindra to compete with the likes of Maruti Ertiga specially in the MPV segment. Mahindra already has Mahindra Xylo in the segment which seems to see a decline in sales.
So in order to reposition it's offering Mahindra is going to place TUV 300 new version as an MPV option. Some reports even suggest that Mahindra might call it TUV500.
