BMW has announced competition edition of M5 for a final tribute to the F10 generation M5 sedan. BMW has come up with just 200 models with increased power and torque boost of 600.21 Hp and 699.60 Nm due to the recalibrated ECU. The car retains the same top speed that is 249.44 kph which is the top speed of the world's fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa. But the power boost has given a boost to its acceleration which is now 3.9 seconds for 0-100 km.
The special edition M5 comes with the standard M Competition Package has stiffer spring and damper response as compared to the standard M5 along with thicker anti-roll bars. The six-piston brakes have glossy Jet Black paint finishing. The spyshots of prototypes reveal that the new car will retain the rear-wheel drive layout and V8 power (although AWD will be offered as well), but would be 100kg lighter than the outgoing model. The new M5 will be based on BMW’s advanced Cluster Architecture platform and have upgraded aerodynamics with reports suggesting that it is likely to feature active aero components.
The M5 Competition Edition features carbonfibre BMW M Performance exterior parts which includes rear diffuser, rear spoiler, gloss-black grille, 20-inch Jet Black alloy wheels, and mirror caps. The interiors have got Black Merino leather interior with Opal White contrast stitching. BMW will be offering the car with two color options- Mineral White or Carbon Black. Along with above mentioned features, the car also offers amazing comforts such as reversing camera, LED headlights, an electronic tailgate, electric rear sunblinds, heated seats, and a Bang and Olufsen sound system.
